Intelligent Instructor Awards 2021!

Hugh has always been a keen advocate of Continued Professional Development (CPD) and keeping himself updated with the latest news and training within the industry. Client centred learning and coaching has been a key feature of this development which has now become an integral part of our teaching techniques within Valley School of Motoring.

As a result, we are delighted to announce that Hugh was awarded Driving Instructor of the Year Wales at the 2021 Intelligent Instructor Awards on 7th March 2021!

Driving Instructor of the Year Wales at the 2021 Intelligent Instructor Awards

The FirstCar young driver’s audience were asked to nominate their Instructors if they thought they were worthy. They were looking for a pupil-centred approach, innovative teaching methods, a commitment to road safety and a high level of student satisfaction.

This is what the judges had to say after Hugh was nominated the winner:

‘’Hugh demonstrated many characteristics we naturally expect of a good instructor; great communicator, approachable, calm, patient, adaptable, creative and a good listener; our winner does go the extra mile using innovative, memorable teaching techniques helping pupils overcome their fears’’.

Hugh was thrilled to receive the accolade, as it continues to highlight the importance of road safety and supports the Valley School of Motoring’s ethos, which is to put safe and confident drivers out onto the road.
